AVMF Disaster Relief Grant

AVMF Disaster Relief Grants are for the purpose of assisting veterinarians and veterinary students who have experienced an emergency need for basic necessities due to a disaster. Up to $2,000 may be issued per grantee for out-of-pocket expenses incurred immediately following the disaster. A disaster would include, but is not limited to, flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires or oil spills in an area that has been declared a disaster area at the local, county, state or federal level.

Additional AVMF Scholarships - DEADLINE APPROACHING

American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF)

The AVMF awards scholarships to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year students attending accredited colleges of veterinary medicine in the U.S. (with the exception of the AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans). These scholarships are awarded based on varying criteria that include academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. The deadline to apply is May 15 so get those applications in! The AVMF is the American Veterinary Medical Foundation. 

"As the charitable arm of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the AVMF is dedicated to the mission of developing resources to advance the science and practice of veterinary medicine to improve animal and human health. To achieve this mission, the AVMF provides programs in Education, Animal Care, Disaster Relief and Research.

AVMA Legacy Endowed Scholarship
Auxiliary to the AVMA Legacy Endowed Scholarship Program Now Open

New for the 2018-2019 academic year, the Auxiliary to the AVMA Legacy Endowed Scholarship Program will award four $1,000 scholarships to students at each of the AVMA- accredited veterinary colleges in the U.S. and the following international veterinary colleges: Atlantic Veterinary College; St. George's University; Ross University; Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies; Royal Veterinary College and the University of Glasgow.

Disaster Relief Grant for Veterinary Students

The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) Disaster Relief Grants for Veterinarians are for the purpose of assisting veterinarians and veterinary students who have experienced an emergency need for basic necessities due to a disaster. The grants would cover items such as clothing, temporary housing, transportation and meals that were needed immediately following a disaster.

Grant amount: Up to $2,000 may be issued per grantee for out-of-pocket expenses incurred immediately following the disaster. A disaster would include, but is not limited to, flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires or oil spills in an area that has been declared a disaster area at the local, county, state or federal level.

The deadline to apply is within 9 months following a disaster. For more information visit the AVMF's website.
