Scholarship Opportunity - SAVMA John Pitts Award for Distinguished Service

"The SAVMA John Pitts Award for Distinguished Service nomination form is now open! Nominations are due Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, at 11:59pm CST. This is a great opportunity for you to recognize a fellow student who has gone above and beyond for our profession!

• This award is open to any veterinary student who is a SAVMA member in good standing.
• The winning nominator & awardee will each receive an award of $150!
• The awardee will receive full registration, travel, and lodging to SAVMA Symposium 2025 (March 20-23, 2025) hosted by UC Davis. The recipient will be honored with an award and recognized during the SAVMA Symposium's LegenDairy Gala on Saturday, March 22nd.

Criteria:

This award is established to honor a veterinary student who has provided exemplary service to the veterinary profession. The John Pitts Award for Distinguished Service is open to any veterinary student who is a member in good standing with SAVMA at the time the award is presented.

Honorees will receive roundtrip airfare, lodging, and registration for the Annual SAVMA Symposium where they will be presented with a statuette. In addition, the honoree's name and school will be engraved on a plaque commemorating the John Pitts Award for Distinguished Service, which is displayed at AVMA Headquarters in Illinois alongside other distinguished members of the veterinary profession.
